Absentee Voting/Last Day to Register

 

The last day to register to vote or to change one’s party will be on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 for the Presidential Primary Election on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.

 

The Clerk’s office will be open on February 10th until 4:00 PM and then voting registration will take place at the Marshfield Police Station, 1639 Ocean Street until 8:00 PM. 

 

Registered Democrats, Republicans, United Independent Party and Green-Rainbow Party must vote on their party’s ballot, only voters who are registered as unenrolled will be able to choose their ballot. 

 

Absentee ballots for the Presidential Primary Election will be available beginning Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Marshfield Town Clerk’s office.  Voting will continue until noon on Monday, February 29, 2016.   You can vote anytime between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM.  We will be closed on Monday, February 15th, Presidents’ Day and we must stop voting on February 29, 2016 at noon.  No absentee ballots can be accepted at the Town Clerk’s Office after February 29, 2016 at noon. 

 

Any registered voters, who cannot get to the polls on Election Day because they will not be in Marshfield, have a disability or because of religious beliefs may come into town hall and vote.  Residents who have family members out of town that are registered voters in Marshfield can fill out a form with their out of town address and the clerk’s office will mail the ballot directly to them.  All ballots returned by mail must be in the Post Office by noon on Election Day.   

 

Because of the election, the Clerk’s office will close at noon on Monday, February 29, 2016 and reopen on Thursday, March 2, 2016 at 1:00PM.
