NOTICE: Absentee Voting/Last Day To Register


The last day to register to vote or to change one’s party will be on Friday, August 17, 2012 for the State Primary Election on Thursday, September 6, 2012.

The Clerk’s office will be open on August 17th until 4:30 and then voting registration will take place at the Marshfield Police Station, 1639 Ocean Street until 8:00 PM. Registered democrats and republicans must vote on their party’s ballot, only voters who are registered as unenrolled will be able to choose their ballot.

Absentee ballots for the September 6, 2012 State Primary Election will be available beginning Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Marshfield Town Clerk’s office. Voting will continue until noon on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. You can vote anytime between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2012, Labor Day and we must stop voting on September 5, 2012 at noon.

Any registered voters, who cannot get to the polls on Election Day because they will not be in Marshfield, have a disability or because of religious beliefs may come into town hall and vote. Residents who have family members out of town that are registered voters in Marshfield can fill out a form with their out of town address and the clerk’s office will mail the ballot directly to them. All ballots returned by mail must be in the Post Office by noon on Election Day.

Because of the election, the Clerk’s office will close at noon on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 and reopen on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1:00PM.
