Marshfield United Against Hate Vigil

The Town of Marshfield Board of Selectmen along with the School Committee and the No Place for Hate Committee will hold a community vigil on Sunday June 29, 2008 at 7:00 PM on the Town Hall Common, in front of Town Hall. There is plenty of parking in the lot behind the Town Hall. The public is invited to participate.
Following a recent hate crime committed in our community, this vigil was established with support from the schools, the town, Interfaith Clergy Association, Marshfield Police and Fire Departments, resident volunteers, and the Anti-Defamation League of New England. The Marshfield Board of Selectmen noted at a recent public meeting, this incident (hate crime) is not acceptable in the Town of Marshfield and will not be tolerated! Hate against one is hate against all, and we must come together to speak out against acts like this.
Families are encouraged to attend. The vigil will last approximately one half hour. Questions about this program and/or program logistics should be directed to the Town Administrators’ Office in Marshfield Town Hall 781 834 5563.
