Concert Series
SUMMER CONCERT AND  ENTERTAINMENT  SERIES ON THE TOWN GREEN
2008


Enjoy the summer sounds.  Bring a blanket, chair, and picnic basket. Sunday evenings, concerts are held rain or shine. In case of rain the performances are held in the First Congregational Church Hall.

July 13                    The Infractions
6:00- 8:00 p.m.     We are pleased to have this top-notch group and our 
                             local favorites return to the Town Green. Listen as they play
                             hits from the 50’s and 60’s, Motown, R&B, Reggae, Swing
                             Classic Ballads and more! Plan to arrive early and bring the
                             kids so they can join in the traditional children’s All Star
                              Review! A great way to kick off the summer music season.
                              
July 20                             The Celtic K ‘s                         
6:00- 8:00 p.m.   A family band based in Marshfield that specializes in a
                           variety of Celtic style music. They perform many tradi-
                           tional Irish, Scottish and Cape Breton songs and instru-
                           mentals. The Celtic K’s are influenced by a number of
                           artists such as Natalie MacMaster and The Cottars. You
                           may have seen them perform at the Marshfield
                            Community Christmas and now you can see them on
                            Town Green for the very first time!  

July 27                               True West         
6:00 -8:00 p.m.   This up-tempo, singer–fronted dance band plays a complete range
                        of modern country music. They combine a traditional sound with new
                        country songs along with a strong rhythm section of electric bass and drums.
                        Their current repertoire includes songs by artists such as Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks,
                        Carrie Underwood, KD Lang and Bonnie Raitt to mention but a few.
                        True West was voted “Horizon Band 2007” by the MCMAA.  
                
August 3                              Special Family Night
5:00 –8:00 p.m.    Enjoy an evening planned for the entire family. Start at 5:00 p.m. with Simon
                              Says, a children and adult entertainer. See if you can beat Simon in a giant game
                             of Simon Says. He is GOOD! At 6:00 p.m., Lonesome Juke Box takes the
                             stage. This year marks the 5th visit by these purveyors of America music! With a
                             new CD just out, the boys are once again the talk of the town.  Lonesome Juke
                             Box is sure to entertain and enthrall fans of all ages. Bring your dance shoes and  
                              be entertained by their originals, classic rock, country, rockabilly and Zydeco
                              selections.  Meet the members of the Recreation Commission and staff and enjoy
                              something tasty from our grill.
