Marshfield Agricultural Commission Community Gardens

Community Gardens at Mounce's Meadow and Coast Guard Hill
Community Gardens

Marshfield has a history rich in agriculture and you can be a part of the glory of growing your own food.  Our two community garden locations are welcoming, friendly and gardeners often help one another.  The Community Gardens at Mounces' Meadow are large (20'x15' or 20'x30') plots and are suitable for gardeners with some prior experience and families.  The fees are low as there are communal chores/hours also required to participate.  All gardens are required to be maintained with organic practices and materials.

The Agricultural Commission recreated a 20-plot garden site at Coast Guard Hill with the help of CPC funding.  There are twenty 4'x8' raised bed gardens suitable for single people, kitchen herb gardens, or more beginner gardeners.  Additionally, 2 large beds are being added this spring.  One is slated to be a raspberry garden the other an herb garden to be tended to and enjoyed by the collective group of gardeners at Coast Guard Hill.  The new shed is scheduled to be finished in May and the new covering for the greenhouse is in work as well.  Once the shed is complete a mower and seed whacker will be purchased to help keep the grounds neat and trim.  All gardens are required to be maintained with organic practices and materials.  Apply using the community garden application form found below.
