Open Burning

2017 Open Burning Season January 15th through May 1st

The Marshfield Fire Department is pleased to announce that town residents will be able to apply for Burn Permits online here: Marshfield Online Burn Permits. Online you may pay via credit card (Visa and MasterCard only). You may still pay with cash or check at the Central Fire Station Office located at 60 South River Street between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 pm. weekdays starting on January 10.

To activate your permit on the day you wish to burn, go to our Web site here: Burn Activation Link to activate your permit each day. The site will inform you if it is a burn day or not.  NOTE: You must activate your permit on the day you wish to burn. You must fill out the required information for security and safety purposes.

We encourage residents to complete their burning early in the season while there is snow on the ground.

In an effort to assist residents with questions about Brush Burning, we have provided several links that will help explain why we follow the guidelines that we do regarding the Brush Burning. These guidelines are not developed at the local level but enforcement of them does fall on the organizations at the local level.
