Marshfield Shoreline Management

Marshfield has been actively working with its coastline for many years.

In addition to the planning for the possibility of sea level rise, Marshfield's active management of the shoreline includes dredging, nourishment, revetments and sea wall construction and maintenance.  Marshfield is currently undergoing a Municipal Vulnerability Planning process through a grant from new Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness "MVP" Program, and at 2019 Fall Town Meeting approved borrowing to provide funds for federal and state grants to manage coastal sea walls and revetments.
