Revolutionary War Honor Roll Committee

aa

In 1776 the original Thirteen Colonies signed the Declaration of Independence, declaring themselves independent sovereign states no longer under the rule of the British Empire. The American Revolution itself would last another seven years. One hundred ninety-two men from Marshfield served in the Revolutionary War, but the town has yet to honor these veterans. With the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration approaching in 2026, several Marshfield citizens have proposed forming a committee to celebrate and raise funds for a new monument on their behalf. The mission of the committee will focus on documenting the service records of the those who served in the war from Marshfield and reviewing locations in town for the placement of the monument.

The committee will work on implementing a design and oversee the construction of the monument and completion of the project prior to July of 2026.

The committee will work on Commencement plans taking place on July 4, 2026.
