The Select Board serves as the Executive Branch of Town government. The Board is comprised of three members, each elected to a three-year term. The Select Board provide policy guidance for all Town departments except for the School Department, which is overseen by the School Committee and the Department of Public Works, which is overseen by the Board of Public Works. 

The following departments report to the Select Board through the Town Administrator: Town Accountant, Animal Control, Board of Appeals, Building, Conservation, Council on Aging, Fire Department, Library, Police Department, Recreation, Treasurer/Collector, and the Veterans Agent. 

The Select Board, in conjunction with the financial team, develop budget strategy and provide general oversight of the budget process. The Board, through the Town Administrator, is the Town's collective bargaining representative for all unions except those that fall under the School Committee. 

The Select Board is charged with the duty of appointing those serving on boards or committees that are not elected. The Board is also the licensing authority for alcohol and motor vehicle retailers

The Select Board meets at least twice per month on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Please see the calendar for a schedule of upcoming meetings.
