Tuesday September 4, 2018 PRIMARY*

*Please be reminded that this primary is for chosing a candidate in a political party for election in NOVEMBER.  If you are enrolled in a party (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian) you must take that Party's ballot.  If you are unenrolled (no declared party preference) you may choose only one ballot for this primary.  Once you have chosen a ballot you cannot exchange it for the ballot of another party.

Wednesday August 15, 2018 is the LAST day to register to vote or to change your political party for this Primary. The Town Clerk's Office will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on that day.

Any Massachusetts voter can check their voter status here.

        All Marshfield registered voters should report to the Furnace Brook Middle School Gymnasium on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 7 AM to 8 PM for voting.

PLEASE NOTE EARLY VOTING FOR THE SEPTEMBER PRIMARY WAS NOT APPROVED BY THE LEGISLATURE.  IF YOU WILL NOT BE IN MARSHFIELD ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2018, PLEASE COME INTO TOWN HALL AND CAST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT.

ABSENTEE VOTING:

ABSENTEE BALLOTS FOR THE SEPTEMBER 4, 2018 PRIMARY ARE AVAILABLE AT THE TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE DURING

BUSINESS HOURS STARTING AUGUST 6TH.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ABSENTEE VOTING:

  • Will be out of town on Election Day
  • Disability
  • Religious reasons

Absentee Ballot Request forms can be downloaded here.  Voters are welcome to cast their absentee ballots in person at the Clerk's Office during normal business hours.

Residents who are out-of-town and registered to vote in Marshfield may have a family member complete a form and have the absentee ballot mailed from this office to their out-of-town address.  State and Federal Law prevent us from allowing anyone to carry a ballot to a voter unless the person has been admitted to the hospital within 72 hours of an election.

MILITARY OR OVERSEAS RESIDENT VOTING

Ballots are available from the town clerk’s office please email us. We will reply within 24 hours.

Due to reporting requirements related to the Election, the Town Clerk’s office will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, AUGUST 31, 2018 and will not re-open until noon on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2018.
