Camping at Couch Beach or Blueberry Island

The Couch Beach Recreation Area and Blueberry Island are open to the public

The Conservation Commission allows individuals and local, nonprofit groups to reserve the camping space at Couch Beach or Blueberry Island. Having a permit allows the group priority over the space should more than one group be present. Please be advised that in order to get to Blueberry Island you do need a boat.

Groups interested in reserving either space please contact the Conservation Office Staff to check the availability. If the desired date is open the individual or group fills out a permit and submits it to the Conservation Office for approval. Once approved, the group is added to the schedule and the permit is sent to the representative of the group, the Police Department and Fire Department alerting them a group will be onsite and when.

Please be aware for both sites each group is responsible for obtaining their own camp fire permit from the Marshfield Fire Department if they plan to use the fire ring. Campfire permits can be obtained from the Marshfield Fire Department at 60 South River Street (Administration Office) OR Call 781-834-5546  Option #1.

For Couch Beach ONLY:
If you plan to drive down to the camping area you will need a key to the gate. A $100.00 Deposit (CHECK ONLY) will be collected in order to receive the key to the gate lock. The Deposit will be returned when the key are returned to the Conservation Office.

Each group is also responsible for renting a Port-a-Potty and having it transported to and from the site. If you would like to use a camping toilet that is also acceptable.

Please Remember Couch Beach and Blueberry Island are Carry in and Carry out!
