Flood Map Update

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) sent a letter (dated 6/8/20) to the Town of Marshfield requesting the Town not move forward with the Inland Waterways Flood Map change that was scheduled for this ATM warrant (June 22nd).  FEMA realized that many communities in the state are not able to have their Town Meetings prior to the original July 22nd effective date required by FEMA, because of COVID-19 pandemic.  FEMA will resubmit the Inland Waterways flood maps at a later date for Town Meeting Action.

This Flood Map change is separate from the Marshfield Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) (Coastal) Map Change that is schedule to go into effect on July 6th.  The LOMR map is coastal in nature and focused on the southern end of Marshfield.  The LOMR process (which is just a section of Marshfield) does not go to Town Meeting, therefore no further action is required by Marshfield.
