Statement of Services

The Treasurer’s Office performs a variety of functions including:

CEMETERY DEEDS
Issuance of cemetery deeds for town owned cemeteries

BANKING
Deposits of departmental receipts
Maintenance and reconciliation of all Town bank accounts and trust funds
Processing of state distributions
Reporting of all revenue to Town Accountant’s Office

DEBT
Issuance of all short-term notes (BANS, SAANs, FAANs)
Issuance of all long-term debt (bonds)
Monitoring and payment of all debt obligations of Town

INVESTMENT
Investment of towns funds in providing for highest yield, suitable liquidity and SAFETY

TAX TITLE
Pursuit of tax liens through foreclosure and civil action
Establishment of payment plans

The Collector’s office interacts with residents on a daily basis providing the following services:

COLLECTION
Real estate and personal property taxes
Motor vehicle and boat excise
Utilities (Water, Sewer & Trash)
Water connection fees
Trailer Fees

RESEARCH
Research of payments
Public information requests

LEGAL DOCUMENTS
Preparation of Municipal Lien Certificates
Preparation of Renunciation Certificates                                                                                                          Preparation of Betterment releases (Sewer, Water & Street)
Preparation of Tax Title instruments (takings & redemptions)

The Payroll & Benefits Offices interact with employees and retirees to provide the following services:

INSURANCE/BENEFITS
Maintenance of all employees and retirees insurance records
Collection of insurance premiums for direct pay, COBRA, LOA and surviving spouses
Maintenance of life insurance records for all employees
Processing of life insurance premium payments and claims
Processing of unemployment claims
Administration of workers compensation

PAYROLL
Input of Town department payroll and processing of payroll for all departments
Federal and state filings
