MARSHFIELD'S MEMORIAL DAY MAY 2024

 

 

    MEMORIAL DAY WREATH LAYING, PARADE AND CEREMONY  
     
    (parade is subject to weather)
     
    07:30am Graveside Wreath Laying Ceremonies- We will lay a wreath at each town cemetery followed by a prayer, Taps and 21 gun salute performed by our VFW Firing detail. We will continue on to the next cemetery immediately following the end of each short ceremony.             
         Winslow Cemetery  Arrive 730am      
         Cedar Grove Cemetery (Next to the First Congregational Church)
         Marshfield Center Cemetery (Corner of Grove and Ferry St.)
         Marshfield Hills Cemetery (Off Rte. 3A)
         Couch Cemetery (Off Union St.)
     

    10:30am Parade:  Memorial Day will begin with our annual parade departing from the Ventress Library promptly at 10:30 am. We invite all of Marshfield’s Veterans, active military and their families to join us as we process to Veterans Memorial Park. Participants are asked to arrive at 10am.  If your organization would like to join us please contact us or call our office to confirm participation at 781-834-5576.

    11:00am Ceremony:  We welcome attendance at Veterans Memorial Park for our annual ceremony as we honor the men and women who have served.

    (Weather permitting) PARADE STARTS PROMPTLY AT 10:30AM
    CEREMONY STARTS PROMPTLY AT 11:00AM
     *** In order to protect the health of our elderly or disabled veterans and residents,  in the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled and the Ceremony will be held inside at the Furnace Brook Middle School at 11:00. This will be determined by the Board of Selectman 2 days prior.
     
     
     
    PARADE ROUTE FOR BOTH VETERANS DAY AND MEMORIAL DAY!
    10:00am LINE UP at Library Plaza
    10:30am START TIME
    March out from Library Plaza
    Take Left onto Ocean St
    Pause at the Town Green at Town Hall
    Proceed down 139 to Veterans  Memorial Park for the Ceremony to start at 11:00am
